Jack is 7!

Jack turned 7 today! We didn't have a digital camera when he was born but we did by his first birthday so here he is at one year old. What a cutie!

Birthday cereal this year: Fruit Loops.

Birthday party: The Arctic. He asked for an igloo cake and named all these arctic animals that should go with it. I did my best. The weather was perfect, too. After a taco lunch and cake, Jack, Kayla, and some friends went out and built a snow fort. Perfect!

Still Enjoying the Snow

Not sure if this is the aftermath or the calm before round 2.

Kayla's measuring between 6 and 7 inches!!

The kids went sledding tonight with Papa and Daddy. Kayla called it "moon sledding."

The First Snowman

Finally! Enough snow for a snowman!!

Waiting for Spring

This is the view today. It's been beautiful. Pouring for a couple of hours now. What a treat to be able to watch it come down while drinking a cup of hot coffee.
As much as we love the snow, we are however, waiting for spring. It must be around the corner, right????

Me and the Boys

Brian and Kayla are out on a father/daughter lunch and shopping date so it is just me and the boys this morning. We decided to get out the train set which has been boxed up for months. Samuel's first remote-control experience. He's been so intrigued!

This guy's turning 7 in a few days. That's just not right!

Samuel is 2!

Today is Samuel's second birthday. It is hard to believe that it has been two years since he was born. He came on a Saturday morning at 9:14 after less than three hours of labor. And, he was two weeks early! Brian was supposed to be headed to a retreat planning meeting so he was already up and almost out the door. I'm so glad he decided to wait! Jack and Kayla spent that morning with our sweet friends the Kulps who took them for donuts. Kayla still remembers her donut with pink icing and sprinkles.
Sam has brought so much laughter and energy to our family. He keeps us on our toes (and on our knees)!
One thing Samuel loves is Elmo. So he had an Elmo birthday cake. Jack and Kayla did, too, on their second birthdays. Granny and Grandpa came over along with our friend Tony. I think Sam had a great party. I heard him bouncing around in his bed long after I said goodnight!
