It is a strange feeling to know that he is not here any longer. How does that happen? Some people say death is a natural part of life. I don't agree. It is very unnatural. It was never supposed to be like this. It is strange that the world goes on, even after the loss of someone so special. My papa was such a good, humble man.
He went around helping everybody. That's just who he was. He was a talker. Oh my was he a talker. Could talk about anything for as long as you would listen. And he seemed to know so much about nature. I've always remembered that. He and Grandma had beautiful gardens full of veggies. Grape vines, apple trees. He was actually headed up the hill to plant potatoes when he passed away. He was a hard worker, always. And he loved my Grandma.
I remember a conversation with him a couple years ago when he said he didn't know if he could be sure of his salvation. He knew his need and where it was met. It was sort of "I believe, help my unbelief." And through my tears this morning, I had joy for him because he knows now. He knows.
And this just after Easter, when we celebrate the risen Christ, in whom is all our hope.
"Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully..." I Corinithians 13:12

Oh, Danielle, I am so sorry! This loss, this pain... I agree, it's not natural. It's creation groaning and longing for our full redemption. I dread the day I lose my own grandfather. Crying for your loss, praising Him that now your Papa sees fully.
Lifting you up.
This is beautiful, Danielle. He sounds like such a neat man and I know you miss him!
